Marcus’s recent promotion from Sales Development Representative (SDR) to Account Executive (AE) is a great example of what’s possible when ambition meets development.

Joining WorkPal in July 2025, Marcus already had experience in sales and a clear goal in mind.

Software is the future and becoming an Account Executive was always where I wanted my career to go. I saw the SDR role as the perfect opportunity to build product knowledge, gain industry experience and develop the skills needed to take that next step.”

After researching software companies in the local area, Marcus felt WorkPal offered more than just a job, it offered a place where he could build a long-term career.

“There was always an open dialogue about where I wanted to get to and what I needed to do to get there. Having that level of transparency and support made the progression feel achievable.”

Now in his new role as an Account Executive, Marcus is focused on building strong customer relationships and helping organisations solve business challenges through a consultative approach.

“I’m looking forward to building stronger relationships with customers, understanding their needs and showing how WorkPal can help address their challenges. It’s rewarding to be involved in that journey and see the impact we’re making.”

His advice for anyone hoping to progress in their own career is straightforward:

“Speak to your manager and make your ambitions known. Have a plan in place, hit your KPIs, be willing to learn new skills and back yourself. If you’re prepared to put in the work, there are great opportunities to develop.”
